On Sunday, Sept. 26, Umphrey's McGee played a sold out show at George's Majestic Lounge. An hour into the show, and there were still some people outside hoping to get tickets to get in.

BOT had the opportunity to chat it up with Joel Cummins, founding member and keyboard-master of Umphrey's McGee. We talked about new Umphrey's material, side projects and interests, and even baseball came out in the conversation.

Tomorrow a BoThead is interviewing the deliciously talented keyboard / vocalist of Umphrey's McGee. Joel Cummins will be answering a few questions and we thought it would be fun to pose him a few queries from fans here on BoT. So comment below with any questions, and we'll pick a few outlandishly great ones to ask.

There aren't any shows left in Texas, but you can run up to OKC this Saturday to see them, or Fayetteville, AR on Sunday to party with Cafe Con Leche at George's Majestic Lounge. Should be an awesome show since it's a smaller venue - and in the middle of the downtown party strip, Dickson Street.

Umphrey’s McGee rolled through Houston two weeks ago, and the missus, Eggs and four of our pals were there to witness the ROCK. The most metal band on the jam scene left us with ringing eardrums and tired legs – though some the music was fit for moshing, we awkwardly white-boy danced our way through the night to a pleasurable mish-mash of funk, jazz, reggae, metal, pseudo-electronica, prog, classic, and modern rock.

The full official announcement hasn't yet happened, but we're pleased to announce that Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Umphrey's McGee, Railroad Earth, Junior Brown, Tea Leaf Green and many more are slated to join the previously announced headliners at the 8th annual 10000 lakes festival. Set to take place at the Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, MN, this mainstay festival has finally stepped up its artist roster to compete with the many new festivals that flooded the market last year. 10KLF has always been on my radar, but with Panic and Wilco on the bill, I just might have to take my first trip to Minnesota.
