TV on the Radio take over SNL
Submitted by eggs on Tue, 02/10/2009 - 15:10.Since releasing their 2002 debut album OK Calculator, TV on the Radio have fast become one of the most intriguing groups making music. After a stellar performance by the Brooklyn-based band at the Voodoo Experience last fall, they've cemented their status as one of my absolute favorite bands right now. They truly sound like no one else, and they're rapidly maturing, as evidence by the the release of each new album. Their latest effort, Dear Science, is chock-full of crunchy hits that will definitely make you want to explore their catalog further after a few listens. Though they're taking a bit of time off the road to do other things, TV on the Radio traveled cross-borough to bring their first two singles from Dear Science to Rockefeller Center's Studio 8H, where they performed on the famed stage of Saturday Night Live.

Fleet Foxes On Saturday Night Live
Submitted by eggs on Mon, 01/19/2009 - 00:53.On what was probably the grandest stage they've ever played, Seattle folksters Fleet Foxes showed up in New York this past weekend for their debut on Saturday Night Live. Over the years, the famed sketch-comedy television show has become known for introducing young, talented bands (with a few exceptions...) to a much wider audience by allowing them to perform twice over the course of the hour-long, nationally broadcasted program. This particular Saturday found Fleet Foxes playing a song from each of their two releases: "Mykonos" from their Sun Giant EP, and "Blue Ridge Mountains" from their critically acclaimed eponymous debut.

MMJ on SNL
Submitted by eggs on Mon, 05/12/2008 - 13:21.My Morning Jacket debuted two songs off of their new album Evil Urges to a national audience when they took the stage on Saturday Night Live this last weekend. They tore through versions of "I'm Amazed" and "Evil Urges" during the hour-and-a-half sketch comedy program. I know most of you were glued to the TV at 11:30 on a Saturday night, and not off doing something social, but for those of you were out on the town here is a chance to see what you missed.
This album is going to be outstanding!
