New Man Man Videos from La Blogotheque
Submitted by cereal on Thu, 08/07/2008 - 13:24.I'm not exactly a huge Man Man fan - that's Eggs' territory - but when I saw that La Blogotheque had posted some new videos of the band, I decided to watch at least part of one (primarily because I dig most of La B's videos). I was a little surprised, then, to find that I felt compelled to watch all five installments of Man Man's musical jaunts around Paris. La Blogotheque main man Vincent Moon did an exceptional job with the videography; this is some of his best work yet. It helps that the band (and frontman Honus Honus in particular) got so into the spirit of things; they look as though they were having a great time. Watch the videos to see Sergei Sogay getting his head shaved while the band musically accompanies the barber, Honus Honus attempting to negotiate a jewelry purchase, some enthusiastic assistance from a group of rollerskating kids, and other Man Man-style antics.

Voodoo Music Experience 2008 Line-Up
Submitted by eggs on Fri, 06/20/2008 - 17:34.
Voodoo Music Experience has become somewhat of a tradition for Breakfast On Tour. As you might know by now, it is where we dreamed up the idea for this little website. It is also a place where we have experienced two years of amazing music. Originally leaning towards more of a rock following, Voodoo has transformed itself into a three day, multi-genre destination featuring many established and up-and-coming bands and artists. Previously announced headliners Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M, and the Stone Temple Pilots are now going to be joined by emo-godfathers Death Cab For Cutie, Denver gypsy-folkers Devotchka, Austin BOT-favorites Ghostland Observatory, and ex-Fugee Wyclef Jean. Taking place in New Orleans, the tenth anniversary of the festival is also set to feature some of the best names in jazz and funk including the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Get excited people!

Yeasayer, Man Man @ Slowdown in Omaha, NE, 4/19/08
Submitted by toast on Mon, 04/28/2008 - 10:34.Yet another night spent in Omaha at the Slowdown on April 19th, 2008. The night was sure to be an interesting one with some experimental rock provided by Yeasayer out of Brooklyn, NY. Following them was Man Man, who could only add to the madness with their gypsy styled grooves out of Philadelphia, PA. I have had the chance to check out both of their studio releases, particularly Man Man, as they have been on the scene for some time. After knowing what both of these acts were all about, I thought that it would be interesting to see them live. The complexity of each of these acts seemed as if it would be a great one two punch.

Album Review: Man Man - Rabbit Habits
Submitted by eggs on Wed, 04/09/2008 - 03:35.
It did not take too long for me to get quite addicted to the percussive, mayhem-based Philadelphia group Man Man. I admit that I have listened to their 2006 album Six Demon Bag seven times this week just to prepare for the musical punch-to-the-face I knew I was about to receive from their new release, Rabbit Habits. After spending all of yesterday with the new album, I have somehow become an even bigger fan.

ACL 2008 Artist Mash-Up
Submitted by eggs on Tue, 04/08/2008 - 03:31.
As reported last week, the 2008 edition of the Austin City Limits music festival is scheduled to release its line-up on the 15th of April. To tide you over until then, the kind folks at C3, who put on the festival, decided to leak a few of the artists (29 to be exact) to the masses. It is not as easy as reading a list though. This year they decided to release a mash-up which features the leaked artists all in one short mp3 file. From what I hear in the mash-up, it is going to be one fun September in Austin!

Just recently got into this percussion oriented group out of Brooklyn. I definitely recommend checking them out, as they are now on tour with Man Man.
