Pearl Jam Debuts "Got Some" on the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien

Editor's note: We want to join everyone in welcoming Bacon as the newest member of the BOT crew. He has written a few things for us in the past, but we are now thrilled to have him on as a full-fledged BOThead. His wealth of knowledge about the current state of music will be a welcome addition to the fold. Glad to have you, Bacon!

Last night marked the debut of Conan O’Brien’s Tonight Show, and his first musical guest was no slouch – Pearl Jam. The band played the new song “Got Some” off their forthcoming album “Backspacer” which is tentatively slated to drop on September 22.

On first listen, “Got Some” has several great hooks, beginning with the “got some if you need it” chorus. The tune is a promising one, and should have PJ fans excited for the upcoming album and tour. Let’s hope for two nights at the Pavilion!

Live From Bonnaroo 2008

We experienced the 2008 edition of Bonnaroo through iClips and text messages instead of actually attending – not quite the same, we agree. But perhaps now we can more closely approximate the wook foot extravaganza: several of our favorite acts have been documented on a new 'Roo DVD. Though the film was originally intended only for festival ticket purchasers, a limited number is now available to the general public for the low price of $16.95. Featured on the DVD are tracks from Pearl Jam, Metallica, The Raconteurs, Broken Social Scene, The Avett Brothers and My Morning Jacket among many others.

Pearl Jam, Flaming Lips, Tenacious D and more cover The Who

For those of you who didn't get a chance to see the original airing (or any of the 30+ subsequent re-runs...) of VH1 Rock Honors: The Who over the weekend, then you missed out on an all-too-rare great music event on television. Most of the time these music channels run that fabricated pop stuff, but now and again moments of brilliance happen. This was one of those moments. Gathering Pearl Jam, The Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, Incubus and Adam Sandler together to play songs by one of the greatest rock bands of all time sounds pretty fine on paper, but the results were even better. Oh yeah, The Who were there too...

Radio Roo Clues?

Friday Radio Bonnaroo, streaming from their site, had a little fun with the online music community. They used their platform to announce clues to this years line-up that is supposed to be released sometime in the very near future (some hint towards February 6th). Eleven different clues were released to the rabid online 'Roo fans, making many message boards go wild. I included my guesses, but feel free to let us know what you think the clues might mean.
