O.A.R. @ Cain's Ballroom | Tulsa, OK

O.A.R. @ Cain's Ballroom
Words and Photos by B "Café con Leche" Gutierrez.

On Sept. 23, O.A.R. came to Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa to fill a Thursday night with great music. After The Dirty Heads opened for the night, there was an easy mood at Cain's. But as soon as O.A.R. hit the stage, it started, the greatest sing-along I've witnessed so far. Everyone in the crowd knew all the lyrics to the songs that rocked Cain's that night. And I wasn't expecting anything less. O.A.R. is one of those bands that you just have to see live, because the sing-along experience is part of what makes them so great.

Jazz Fest '08 Line-up Released

New Orleans. Just uttering those two words conjures a wide array of images, from beads and bare breasts to faulty levees and hurricanes (both the disastrous and tasty kinds). But at its core, New Orleans is a city filled with music and culture -- and a guaranteed good time. Each year, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival celebrates the fullness of the city's musical legacy, bringing in heavyweight acts as well as staples of NOLA's music scene. This year's festival, the 39th installment of the event, is certainly no exception: the line-up boasts acts representing genres ranging from jazz (of course) and zydeco to country and jam.
