New Band of Horses at Coachella
Submitted by eggs on Wed, 04/22/2009 - 03:04.Band of Horses rocked the California desert during Coachella this past weekend, bringing plenty of classics to their early evening crowd. With a new record set for release later in the year, and a tour schedule that will find them playing numerous festivals, some new material was bound to reach YouTube quickly. Coachella got at least one new song, which was promptly posted to the interweb for us all to enjoy.
Nice and chill, but still has that same old BoH feel to it. If you add it to this song, and the track "Why You Never Get Older," which we heard in Austin a few times last fall, the new album should be great. I can't wait to catch them this summer!
Coachella 2009 Webcast
Submitted by eggs on Fri, 04/17/2009 - 17:36.Festival season officially begins now. Thousands of hipsters have packed up their belongings and travelled west (or east, like a vast majority attending from LA), and headed to the California desert for the 2009 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Already underway, Coachella has a huge line-up this year, including a Beatle (Paul McCartney), a Smith (Morrissey), and way too many beards to even start counting. While we can't be there in person, thanks to AT&T, we have the ability to experience some of its amazing musical performances from the comfort of our own homes. What was formerly known as the Blueroom, the now simply-titled AT&T Music will offer several choice performances from the 100+ artists on the line-up. Today (Friday, Apr 17), we get to check out sets from the aforementioned Macca and Moz, as well as Conor Oberst & the Mystic Valley Band, The Hold Steady, Alberta Cross and several others. Saturday (Apr 18) will see sets from The Killers, M.I.A., Calexico, Dr. Dog and Houston/Austin natives Electric Touch. Sunday (Apr 19) will finish out the webcast and the festival with shows by The Cure, Public Enemy, Peter, Bjorn & John and Austin favorites Okkervil River among others.

Coachella 2008: Even the Trash Cans Had a Great Time!
Submitted by cereal on Sat, 05/03/2008 - 12:34.So, last weekend a little music festival called Coachella took place. Say what you want about the inclusion of Jack Johnson as a headliner; there were a ton of great artists there that caused me to turn absolutely green at several points last weekend, wondering why the coacHELLa I was still in Texas (bet I got some serious mental tomatoes for that one). But even more than catching those sets in the California desert, I would have liked to experience in person the event captured in the videos below. Greatness.

Animal Collective covering(?) Panda Bear at Coachella
Submitted by eggs on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 19:05.I am currently obsessed with Animal Collective, as well as the side project from band member Panda Bear. Check out why:
I have watched quite a few videos from Coachella, and this was definitely the one that made me most jealous of those Californian festival goers. This event is definitely on my must-attend list, if only for its mind-blowing line-ups; Prince, Roger Waters, My Morning Jacket, Animal Collective, The National, Hot Chip, Islands, Stars... Need I say more?
Anybody make it to Coachella this year? How was it?
