SXSW 2010: Saturday In Photos
Submitted by eggs on Wed, 04/07/2010 - 15:24.Our final day of SXSW 2010 was the longest and most fun of the bunch. We gathered together as big of a group as possible, and took to the streets of Austin for our last hours of debauchery. During Saturday, March 20, we caught sets from the likes of Mishka, Bob Schneider, The Orion Experience, J Roddy Walston and the Business, The Cringe ft. John Popper, Steve Conte & the Crazy Truth, Andrew WK, Dr. Dog, Jakob Dylan & Three Legs ft. Neko Case & Kelly Hogan, Street Sweeper Social Club, She & Him, Crystal Antlers and Frightened Rabbit among others.

SXSW 2010: Saturday In Review

Our final day of the 2010 edition of SXSW was easily our most action packed. We started our day off earlier than the other two, making it to Rachael Ray's day party at Stubb's just a bit before 11 in the morning. We knew we couldn't pass up the stellar line-up, free food and best of all free drink, so we bundled up due to the uncharacteristically chilly Austin day, and started the party.

Submitted by eggs on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 14:14.Day two of the SXSW music festival was just as action-packed as day one, this time filled with a host of my must-see acts of the year. After our initial plans were deviated, we ended up catching sets from Everest, Delta Spirit, Citizen Cope, Minus The Bear, Grupo Fantasma, Mariachi El Bronx, Billy Bragg, Frightened Rabbit and Man Man.

SXSW 2010: Friday In Review

With one full day at the 2010 SXSW music festival done and gone, we still had two more to go. While I studied my ass off leading up to the weekend, I still went into it with no real plan – just ideas of what I might want to do. I had the parents and sister in tow for another day, and Bacon had plans to meet us later in the day, so all I knew was that I was ready for a party. We got up decently late, and shipped off in favor of another brilliant day of music, friends, partying and whatever other hi-jinks we could get ourselves into.

We had the chance to check out a bunch of bands we've never indulged in before, and caught up with some old favorites. Throughout the day we caught sets from The Living Sisters, Fanfarlo, Gordon Gano & The Ryans, Lou Barlow & the Missingmen, The Lonely Forest, The Low Anthem, Black Prairie, The xx, Local Natives, Adam Green and Delta Spirit.

Another SXSW has come and gone, and we couldn't have left with more accomplished and satisfied feelings then we did. The BOT team of Toast, Bacon and myself took the festival by storm, and hit up as many shows as possible. Over the course of three days I witnessed at least a few songs by 48 different bands (as well as a few choice repeats), and now I sit here in a daze trying to think about our crazy adventures throughout the city of Austin. We made it to the festival on Thursday morning, and it was on from there!

Mess With Texas 4
Submitted by eggs on Wed, 03/10/2010 - 16:43.
Mess With Texas 2009
With only a week until SXSW Music is in full force, the people behind FYF Fest and Fun Fun Fun Fest have put together a great group of bands for the fourth annual Mess With Texas Party. Pulling together many of the conferences heavy hitters, MWT4 has also brought about two headliners that currently have no other shows scheduled during the week – Gwar and Man Man. I always look forward to this yearly event, not only because the copious amounts of bands performing, but also because the fact that it is completely free. With a new location closer to all the madness, and a switch to a two day format, MWT4 will also be hosting the likes of Billy Bragg, Man or Astroman?, Frightened Rabbit, YACHT, Grupo Fantasma and several more on Friday, and Andrew WK, Fucked Up, Crystal Antlers, Neon Indian, Holy Fuck and a bunch more on Saturday.

Several of BOT's favorites were announced today, including Frightened Rabbit, Deer Tick, The Crystal Method, B-Real, C-Mon & Kypski, Steel Train, Timber Timbre, Princeton and We Are Scientists. It's also great to see Houston string group Two Star Symphony among the names announced today. SXSW 2009: Saturday in Review
Submitted by eggs on Sat, 04/11/2009 - 03:31.Our third and final day in Austin for the South by Southwest music festival and conference was spent jumping to and from parks and downtown venues. After two days of non-stop music, though, we had tired minds and tired feet, so we decided to make our day an easy one.
