Outside Lands 2009 Initial Line-Up
While you can't top Radiohead's headlining set of last year, the folks behind the 2009 Outside Lands festival have done a great job of trying to rival it. The headliners for the second annual San Francisco festival have come straight out of the 90's, with Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band and the Beastie Boys leading the bill. The rest of line-up for the August 28-30 festival is Bonnaroo-strong, featuring an amazing undercard that includes Incubus, Ween, Modest Mouse, Band of Horses, TV on the Radio, Jack White's new project The Dead Weather and Tom Jones(!). Check out the following video, which craftily puts all of the bands into a clever little song.

This is one of the strongest line-ups of the year, by far. Get rid of the Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz and M.I.A., and you have yourself a perfect festival. Also, the addition of Tom Jones to the line-up is absolutely brilliant! Anybody going to make to this one?

I'm there!
Gettin my ticket Wednesday! This lineup is too tough to pass up, especially at GG Park BEA-U-TI-FUL!
"MIA is garbage"
I was totally thinking that Line 2 of the poster bill is 100% lame (minus Ween). Incubus used to be cool and then just kind of went off the deep end imo.
I love the puppet music video! That alone would make me buy tickets if I weren't going to be in Ireland that week.
perfect festival?
They'd have to get rid of DMB to get anywhere close to the vicinity of 'perfect festival'.
