Langerado 2009 Initial Artists: Death Cab, Snoop Dogg, Ryan Adams, Public Enemy, The Pogues, and more!

Langerado Music Festival announced a few months back that they were again switching their location, this time moving from the swamplands of Big Cypress to Bicentennial Park on Biscayne Bay in the concrete jungle of Miami. This relocation is accompanied by a parallel change to the style of the the festival's line-up. While the festival has always featured a variety of styles of bands, it's always leaned quite heavily on the jamband realm. This year's artist listing features a wide array of popular indie-rock, hip-hop, dance, punk and reggae acts that you would probably expect to find at Lollapalooza rather that Langerado. Topping the bill are Death Cab For Cutie, who have been gaining steam since the recent release of their album Narrow Stairs, as well as Snoop Dogg, Thievery Corporation, Ryan Adams & the Cardinals, Public Enemy and The Pogues.

I dig the line-up, but the move to Miami, and the escape from the camping format were what really helped me to decide not to go. I thought that they did pretty well with their choice to move the festival to Big Cypress last year, but obviously it didn't work out for them. I guess we can only wait and see how this new edition of the festival turns out.

I went to Langerado back in '06 when it was still in Sunrise, FL and it was a fantastic venue. Such a shame they've moved it to Miami.
Death Cab for Cutie as a headliner? That's just bizarre to me. I also think someone deserves a bruising for putting George Clinton and PFunk so low on the list.

I went in 06' and it was great. It wasn't crowded, people were cool, no traffic no issues.
Again, went this year 08'. MAJOR ISSUES! Wife and I got there, stayed in Homestead, 1 lane in / 1 out. There were 2 bad accidents, traffic was nutz! I'm from VA/DC area traffic isn't that bad here, but that was just crazy day in and day out. Lineup was great but does not out way the BS you had to go through to get to it.
09' I'll wait and see, not real thrilled about Lineup. Being in Miami will cost more money for travelers, soooooooooo not real thrilled what they've done since 06'.
