Ben Folds with Regina Spektor, Inara George on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Ben Folds has been on my radar for several years, but I'd never taken the time to immerse myself in his catalogue. While I've heard many of his songs, they have never truly stuck with me. When I noticed that he was going to be on Jimmy Kimmel, my favorite late night personality by far, I left the channel on to see what he had to offer. The addition of two of BOT's favorite female vocalists, Regina Spektor and The Bird and the Bee's Inara George, certainly kept my attention as well. First up was Folds and Spektor's highly blogged "You Don't Know Me" from Folds' latest album, Way to Normal, followed by the fitting Bond song "Nobody Does It Better" which finds George matching her skills up against the Carly Simon original.

Ben Folds ft. Inara George - "Nobody Does It Better"

While I am liking "You Don't Know Me" better every time I listen to it, the true standout of this session is the cover of "Nobody Does It Better." While her looks probably came from her mother, Inara George definitely got her musical talent from her father's side of the family (her dad is none other than the late Lowell George, founder of seminal rock band Little Feat). Her work with The Bird and the Bee is great, and she also recently put out a solo album with help from The Greyboy Allstars' Elgin Park (Mike Andrews). Check her out as soon as possible.
