Trampled By Turtles - "Feet and Bones"

Sometimes I just need a serious dose of foot-stompin' bluegrass to get my day going. Being a big fan of all types of music, there is something to be said about the bluegrass, or newgrass, that is being produced today. It is one of the only types of live music that will consistently get me on my feet. Bands like Yonder Mountain String Band and Railroad Earth have no problem keeping me motivated enough to boogie from the moment they hit the stage until they finish their encore. One newgrass group that I've yet to see, but Toast has covered on numerous occasions, are Minnesota revivalists Trampled By Turtles. Their brand of the genre is quicker and more energetic than most, and is one of the best examples of what bluegrass has become in recent years. I was browsing YouTube the other day, and came across a video of the group running through the speedy "Feet and Bones" for Minneapolis radio station 89.3 The Current. It's very addictive, so beware...



Trampled By Turtles will be making stops throughout the midwest including Toast's hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska on May 15. Also included in their tour are sets at both Wakarusa and High Sierra music festivals. Check 'em out... I'm dying to!
