I've been really digging on the music of Lucero since first catching them live at Wakarusa this past summer. They have a unique take on country music, adding in several doses of pure rock-and-roll and a whole bunch of whiskey to the mix. They are due to drop their new album, 1372 Overton Park, on October 6th, but during the time being they are debuting a song a week via fan made videos. The first fan-commissioned video is for the track "Darken My Door," and features a musician/puppet who's quite simply down on his luck. The song is a ballad at its best, very much like some of the Drive By Truckers that Bacon has been getting me into lately. Take a look at the video, and be prepared to stomach the puppet vomit scene.

I hope to post as many of these fan-built videos as I can leading up to the release of 1372 Overton Park, so be prepared for a Lucero overload on BOT in the coming weeks.
