Jam titans Phish began their summer tour yesterday, with a ripping set of both new and old songs at the famed Boston baseball venue, Fenway Park. They opened the two-set performance with an a cappella "Star Spangled Banner" on the pitcher's mound, and soon took the stage and played through "Sample in a Jar." Three new songs were debuted live, including the recently released single "Time Turns Elastic," the lively "Ocelot" and the mellow "Light," with the most after-show love going to "Ocelot." 24 total songs were played, including the first "Curtis Loew" in over 15 years, and a run through of "Destiny Unbound," a song they've only played a handful of times since the early nineties. It was the perfect first show that, by all reports, was nearly flawless, and had each member performing to the best of his abilities. If this is how the first show went, I wonder how well they'll be playing after a few more shows? I have a feeling they'll be pretty damn good...
Check out the full setlist and watch a bunch of great videos from Fenway after the jump.
