Toubab Krewe Winter Tour
Submitted by toast on Mon, 02/02/2009 - 21:22.Asheville-based Afro-beat quartet Toubab Krewe will soon embark on a late winter tour with stops along the East Coast and Midwest. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see these talented artists play yet, you’re definitely missing out. The Krewe provides a unique mixture of American-influenced music and traditional Malian sounds. Fortunately for me, the band will be making a pit stop in my hometown of Lincoln for the second year in a row. Not only am I excited about the show, but I'm also looking forward to picking up a copy of their latest release, Live at he Orange Peel. For some reason, my local music store has neglected to stock it. At least I only have to wait one more month.

Bruce Springsteen Slides Crotch-First Into Cameraman at Super Bowl
Submitted by eggs on Mon, 02/02/2009 - 02:27.The Pittsburgh Steelers are your new NFL World Champions. While it was a really good game that almost featured one of the greatest comebacks in Super Bowl history, the Steelers wound up spoiling Arizona's effort with an amazing catch by Santonio Holmes in the corner of the endzone during the final minute of the game. All that being said, I'm a Bears fan, so I was most interested in what half-time was set to bring us. Slated to perform for the first time at a Super Bowl was New Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, who took the opportunity to show the world exactly what a 12 minute party looks like. Near the end of set opener "10th Avenue Freeze Out," Bruce decided to take a slide towards the camera – but his depth perception was a wee bit off...
Freakin' hilarious!
