Show Preview: Rhett Miller @ The Granada
Submitted by bacon on Mon, 11/09/2009 - 23:28.One of Dallas’ most beloved musicians is playing the Granada Theater this Saturday, and, given my longtime man-crush on Old 97’s frontman Rhett Miller, there’s no way I’m going to miss the chance to see him play at the best venue in his hometown. Bring it on I-45, I've got plenty of tunes and Diet Mountain Dew to combat your suckiness. Rhett will be joined by several other Dallas favorites: Salim Nourallah, the O’s, and Shibboleth (as part of the VIP performance). Even better, the show benefits the Breathe Easy Foundation, which is a charity for cystic fibrosis. The event aims to raise money and awareness about this life-threatening genetic disorder affecting over 70,000 people worldwide.
VIP tickets are just 75 bucks, and get you 30 minutes of Shibboleth and 30 minutes of Rhett Miller acoustic. Regular tickets are only $25, so snag ‘em while you can. Check out the video here for more information, then buy your tickets to a great concert supporting a charity you can feel good about!

Voodoo Experience 2009: Friday In Review
Submitted by breakfast on tour on Mon, 11/09/2009 - 17:01.
After taking a week to soak in what was the 11th annual Voodoo Experience, we've gathered our pictures and words to present for you all. Friday of Voodoo was a busy one which saw Toast and I driving straight from Houston to the festival where we met up with Bacon (and the Missus), Hash Browns and travel-mate "Skinny Sumo" for the start of an incredible weekend. During our first day we caught sets from a host of bands, including The Cool Kids, Tao Rodriguez-Seeger Band, Alejandro Escovedo, Janelle Monae, The Black Keys, Silversun Pickups, Justice, Ween and Eminem. Several hard rain storms also accompanied our first day, which only brought out the best in both the artists on stage and us fans rollicking in the mud.
Read all about Friday, October 30th at the 2009 Voodoo Experience after the jump.
Voodoo Experience 2009: Friday In Photos
Submitted by breakfast on tour on Mon, 11/09/2009 - 04:35.While we wasted no time in getting the party started during the first day of the 2009 Voodoo Experience, we also happened to do a little work. Toast and Eggs brought along their cameras to City Park on Friday, October 30th to capture the scene, as well as the numerous bands that performed throughout the day. We did our best in running from stage to stage to document as much of the festival as possible, so feel free to check out all of our images after the jump.
